Does the picture quality change by taking a screenshot?

Are you wondering if there is a difference in quality when you decide to take a screenshot of the picture? What are you thinking? Are you answering a yes, no, or you just lack any idea? Let’s find out! Well, the correct answer to this question is that when the image is at more than 100% zoom, then more likely there is aliasing available in the taken screenshot, which technically is in the same degree at the right zoom level. This means that here, the quality is more likely to be the same when the picture is at more than 100% zoom.

How about when the image is less than 100% zoom? In this case, you will lose some of the original picture quality because of some of the interpolation algorithms that are used by the given image viewing software you were using.

Again, if, in any case, you choose to use any of the lossless encoding formats, which are PNG, GIF, or even uncompressed image format for the resultant image, all the above stated will work out. However, when you choose to use the loss image compression such as JPEG or even the HEIC codec, then you better be sure that you will lose the picture quality regardless of the scale of the original image!

Is there any effect on the picture quality when screenshots are taken?
